Duolingo Launches Certification Program To Take On TOEFL Programs

Duolingo, a free language learning service, announced the launch of Test Center, its digital language certification program. It currently measures the English Proficiency Exams like the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), and will eventually expand to other languages. It is currently free, but will start charging $20 when universities and companies accept its certificate. Many international corporations and some countries require TOEFL scores before issuing a work visa. These tests are also prone to fraud, so Duolingo ensured its security through a camera and microphone that records every action during the exam.
