One Month Raises $770K to Teach Coding, Web Skills
One Month, which started as a consolidated Ruby on Rails course, has closed its seed round of $770,000 to expand its accelerated programming instruction and to teach coding to the masses. The Y Combinator-led round included participation from Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Winklevoss Capital, Funders Club, Innovation Works, Lew Moorman and Wefunder, and others. Since its launch in August 2013, One Month has reported a 20-25% completion rate, which is three times the average completion rate for most MOOCs. Currently, One Month offers courses in Ruby on Rails, HTML and CSS, as well as growth hacking.
