Coursera Co-founder Andrew Ng Joining Baidu as Chief Scientist
In a post published on the Coursera blog, co-founder Andrew Ng announced that he was stepping away from day-to-day operations of the online learning platform. Though he will continue as Chairman of the Board, he has also accepted the role of Chief Scientist at Baidu, a web services company based in China.
Ng says that he was to further his knowledge in machine learning which he describes as his “roots and helped launch Coursera and the MOOC movement.” Additionally, he plans to pursue his passions in both artificial intelligence and education.
