Dominican U. to Host First Coursera Learning Hub at a US Institution
After two years on the web, Coursera is finally finding a brick-and-mortar home at a US institution. This summer, students of the MOOC provider can meet in-person at the “Learning Hubs” to “collaborate and, in some cases, receive in-person tutoring from course facilitators familiar with the content” at Dominican University of California. The New York Public Library will host the second domestic hub.
True to the MOOC mission, Coursera does not pay its partners to establish a hub, and discourages partners from charging a participation fee.
