Google infuses OSU’s Open Source Lab with $300K

Oregon State University’s Open Source Lab is the latest recipient of a $300,000 gift from Google in their efforts to support the creating of free software for schools, hospitals and government agencies nationwide.

Launched in 2003, OSU’s Open Source Lab is a program that provides hosting for developers of software and technologies made with an open-source license.  Currently they provide hosting for well known projects such as BusyBox, Apache, and Eclipse, as well as development and maintenance for  Oregon’s K-12 online program and the state’s One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative.
