OpenStack to be run on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
This week at WorldHostingDays in Germany, Dell announced a partnership with Canonical to provide and support open-source cloud computing software OpenStack with Ubuntu, Canonical’s open-source software.
“We know that when you’re building private clouds, you want access to a full feature set and the confidence that vendor support provides,” Martin Stadtler, Canonical director of global support and services, posted on the company blog. “With Dell’s OpenStack-Powered Cloud Solution, users of Ubuntu Server 12.04 Long Term Support (LTS) will be able to take advantage of the cost savings and flexibility of the open-source cloud, without the risk.”
Dell OpenStack-Powered Cloud Solution will run on the server release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS “Precise Pangolin,” which is set for an April 26 launch.
