iEnergizer buys Aptara, expanding Technopark operations
Digital publishing company Aptara announced its acquisition by iEnergizer Limited on Feb. 13.
Private equity firm American Capital Ltd., who invested in Aptara in 2005, sold the company to iEnergizer for $144 million on Feb. 7. The London-based iEnergizer is part of a diversified group with wide-ranging investments in business process outsourcing, oil and gas, and real estate.
“iEnergizer recognizes that the market for digital content production is immense and still largely untapped,” Aptara CEO and president Dev Ganesan said in a press release. “Their strategic investment gives Aptara a wider and longer runway for expanding the scope and scale of our operations at a time when publishers are pursuing vendor consolidation.”
Aptara will continue to operate as a standalone entity and retain the Aptara name.
In other Aptara news, the company announced expansion of its Technopark operations to accommodate corporate growth. While Aptara currently employs 500 people at Technopark, a technology park in Trivandrum, Kerala, India, the new office will be home to a total of 1,200 employees.
Aptara projects that its Trivandrum operations will double by the third quarter of 2012.
The company is currently hiring the following for its Technopark office: Lawyers, content developers, instructional designers, programmers, proof readers, copy editors, XML/HTML programmers, and MBA graduates with an emphasis in Finance. To apply, send your resume to: email@example.com.
