Splash Media U teams up with GILD to bring social media to higher ed
Splash Media U, the online training solutions division of Splash Media, LP, has engaged The Global Institute for Language and Literacy Development, L.L.C (GILD) to bring its social media marketing curriculum to higher education partners across the United States.
“We are thrilled to have GILD as part of the team. Together we will create and deliver the standard by which individuals should be trained to be considered social media marketing professionals,” Splash MediaChief Learning Officer Paul Slack said. “We will accomplish this by educating students with highly engaging instruction that meets industry standards and goes far beyond that with real-life examples of how social media marketing actually works for businesses of all sizes.”
The team from GILD is highly respected in the education industry, having worked at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C.
“Splash Media has put together a curriculum that is second to none in the industry. Without the real-world expertise that Splash Media provides to its clients daily, it would be nearly impossible to properly train students to become social media marketing professionals,” said Kathleen Leos, president and CEO of GILD. “It is our belief that Splash has everything it needs to be able to fulfill the needs of higher education institutions, and we look forward to developing a program that these institutions can implement throughout their marketing degree and credentialing programs.”
Splash Media U curriculum includes over 400 online classes covering strategies and best practices for using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and blogs to effectively execute social media business plans. Splash Media U training also includes live daily shows and training programs through SMTV, its internet television station. Splash Media U is working on achieving its accreditation, which is expected to be finalized by the end of 2012. Learn more about Splash Media U by visiting http://www.splashmediau.com.
