EduCam app beams images straight to student devices
Ken-a-Vision has released a new app that allows classrooms to share live-feed images from the company’s document cameras and microscopes to iPad and Android tablets.
EduCam is a cloud based app that uses existing wifi to stream live content from the Ken-A-Vision and FlexCam line of document cameras and digital microscopes to multiple devices at once, where users can then capture, send, or save images. Users can also zoom, scroll, or use one of the various annotation tools on the images.
“As the one-to-one and BYOD movements have grown, we’ve noticed a significant increase in the demand for cross-platform mobile apps specifically designed for the classroom,” said Steve Dunn, President of Ken-A-Vision in a statement.
The app is currently available via the App store; the Android version is awaiting release.
