Carson-Dellosa releases new eCatalog aligned with CCSS
Carson-Dellosa has released a new eCatalog of its products that directly align with the Common Core State Standards.
The company developed the eCatalog to respond to the needs of teachers, many of whom are seeking to replace or update materials in their classroom that do not align with the more rigorous standards. So far, 45 states and three U.S. territories have adopted the Common Core Standards.
In the survey, teachers responded that they intended to buy materials including:
- Informational, non-fiction reading and reading comprehension texts with an emphasis on science, social studies and history
- More complex and challenging texts
- Writing resources that focus on crafting researched, structured, informative and persuasive arguments
- Vocabulary builders
- Math books, manipulatives and hands-on materials that build a solid foundation of key concepts
The survey included 327 teachers and parents. Of that group, 54 percent said they were “very familiar” with Common Core Standards.
“Teachers need resources that they can trust and parents need materials that support their students as the new state standards are introduced,” said Judy L. Harris, CEO of Carson-Dellosa. “We’re in a position to help both groups adjust to the new requirements, and this eCatalog will help make the transition easier.”
Carson-Dellosa uses an independent, third-party firm to certify that its products exceed the new Common Core requirements.
