Top 5 things students hate about online colleges
Geteducated.com has released a preliminary analysis of the top problems plaguing online learning degree programs according to a very credible source: online students themselves. Top complaints include:
#1 Disengaged instructors
#2 Poor customer service
#3 Group assignments
#4 Poor quality control
#5 Poor course design
“Reading the news in 2012 one could conclude that online colleges will be the ruination of higher education,” says Vicky Phillips, who founded Get Educated in 1989 to help consumers make informed choices about online degrees. “But an analysis of the reviews left on the Get Educated site by real online students and teachers – those who work and study inside the online learning sector – shows an overall positive opinion of the online college experience.”
Get Educated, which has been collecting evaluative online college reviews from students, faculty, and the general public since 2009, will publish student satisfaction and public reputation ranking lists based off of these reviews this fall. The lists will spotlight the best accredited online degree programs in America.
