U of Central Florida student creates better course selection program; gets in trouble over it
Tim Arnold, a senior at the University of Central Florida studying marketing, set out to do ease some of the pain associated with a student’s assembling the best class lineup. This June, he created a program designed to send a short message to students’ phones as soon as a seat became available in their desired class and promoted his creation “U Could Finish” onReddit. Within six days, it received over 500 visitors. Sounds all well and good right? Apparently not, because UCF insisted “U Could Finish” was disrupting normal technology use. and administrators were also not thrilled with the fee Arnold required.
