Vantage Learning updates student monitoring system
The Student Progress Monitoring System®, the formative assessment and Adaptive Learning Platform™ from Vantage Learning, has enhanced its capabilities to help students learn and master classroom skills and concepts. SPMS is advancing the learning process for students by allowing them to direct their own education, while aligning services for teachers and administrators to manage learning programs, differentiation and measurement.
The platform—which can also be used for benchmarking, computer adaptive and linear and summative assessments—instantly delivers educative resources based on strand-level diagnostics. These resources are differentiated based on multiple indicators from within the student’s profile. Centered on a student’s unique deficiencies, SPMS automatically provides each student with a Personalized Adaptive Learning Plan™. This PALP™ is a needs-based prescription that targets learning and remediation. Students receive dynamic learning opportunities in the form of re-teaching videos, practice exercises and knowledge evaluations.
“Though teachers are the best intervention for students, large class sizes and time constraints limit the ability for educators to provide personalized intervention to each child,” said Keith Webster, President of Vantage Learning. “With the adaptive nature of the platform, SPMS helps students master necessary skills—instead of just going through empty motions. The platform supports data-driven instruction by aiding educators in identifying instructional priorities and setting goals. From there, they can evaluate instructional effectiveness, assess readiness for high-stakes testing and facilitate information sharing with parents and other stakeholders.”
