Incoming Seton Hall freshmen to get free Nokia smartphones

Incoming freshmen at Seton Hall this year will get a rather unorthodox freebie – their very own Nokia Lumia 900 with prepaid service that will last them through their first semester .

The gratis smartphones, part of a larger technology initiative being led by the University’s Center for Mobile Research & Innovation, are expected to be beneficial in two main areas: SHU Mobile the the Freshman Experience Hub,  the latter of which has been specifically designed for the Lumia 900.

SHU will also be able to track and analyze how the devices are being used with the included Nokia Data Gatering software.
