TCI’s online social studies program gets SIAA CODiE award

The Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) 2012 CODiE Award for Best Social Sciences Instructional Solution has gone to TCI’s online social studies program.

The SIIA CODiE™ Awards, originally called the Excellence in Software Awards, were established in 1986 by the Software Publishers Association (SPA), now the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), so that members of the software industry could evaluate and honor each other’s work.

“TCI has long been recognized by teachers and students alike for its innovative, interactive K-12 social studies programs. Now winning a CODiE adds technological luster to what we’ve been doing for 23 years: truly making learning come alive for all students,” Bert Bower, TCI founder and CEO said in a press release. “We believe we’ve found ways to help teachers use technology to increase interaction in the classroom, not just between students and computers, but more importantly, between students and their fellow classmates and teachers.”
