NOOK Tablet vs. Kindle Fire

On Feb. 21, Barnes & Noble introduced its $199 NOOK Tablet, which has been positioned as a close competitor to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Below, we’ve compared and contrasted each e-reader’s feature, for those of you who may be wavering between the two.

My pick: Although the Kindle Fire has a few cool features that the NOOK Tablet lacks, it’s not so superior that I’d choose it over the NOOK for one very basic reason: Physical retail stores. Although $199 may seem reasonably priced, it’s still an investment for many of us, and I like the convenience of being able to visit a physical location for customer support if anything goes wrong.
